Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Bacon Industries ("we", "us", or "our"), a personal project operated from the State of Arizona, United States, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit or use this website (the "Site"). We respect your privacy and have designed this Site to collect as little personal information as reasonably possible.
1. Information We Collect
The only personal information we store about you is:
- Your email address;
- Your first name; and
- Your last name.
This information is collected only when you voluntarily create an account or sign in. We do not knowingly collect any other categories of personal information.
1.1 Third-Party Sign-In
You may sign in using a third-party identity provider, including Google, Discord, Twitch, GitHub, or GitLab. When you sign in via one of these providers, the provider may share with us a basic profile (typically your name and email address) so that we can create or authenticate your account. Your interaction with those providers is governed by their own privacy policies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third-party identity providers.
1.2 What We Do Not Collect
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.
- We do not use third-party cookies of any kind.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration.
- We do not display advertisements.
- We do not sell any products or services through this Site.
- We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited personal information we collect solely to:
- Create and maintain your account;
- Authenticate you when you sign in;
- Send transactional emails — such as account sign-up confirmations and password-reset emails. We do not send marketing or promotional email.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): to create your account, authenticate you, and provide the Site to you;
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): to keep the Site secure and operational; and
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): where you have expressly consented, such as when you elect to sign in via a third-party provider.
4. International Data Transfers
Bacon Industries is operated from Arizona, United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Site to you. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by contacting us (see Section 11).
6. Cookies and Do Not Track
We only use strictly necessary first-party cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use any tracking, analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies. Because we do not track users across third-party websites, our Site responds to "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals by default — there is nothing additional to disable.
7. Your Rights Under the GDPR / UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to our processing;
- Data portability;
- Withdraw any consent at any time, without affecting prior processing; and
- Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
8. Your Rights Under the CCPA and CPRA (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), provides you with the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties (if any) with whom we share it;
- Right to Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions;
- Right to Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, including not sharing it for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information for any purpose that would trigger this right;
- Right to Non-Discrimination for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.
Notice at Collection (CCPA/CPRA). The categories of personal information we collect are "identifiers" (name and email address). We collect this information for the business purpose of account creation, authentication, and sending transactional email. We retain this information for the duration of your account. We do not sell or share personal information and have not done so in the preceding twelve (12) months.
9. Your Rights Under CalOPPA
In compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA):
- You can visit our Site anonymously without providing any personal information;
- This Privacy Policy is linked from every page of the Site (typically in the footer) and includes the word "Privacy" in its title;
- Users will be notified of any material changes to this Privacy Policy on this page;
- As noted above, we honor Do Not Track signals by not engaging in cross-site tracking.
10. Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in accordance with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
11. How to Exercise Your Rights / Contact
To exercise any of the rights described above, or for any privacy-related questions, please contact us at hostmaster@bacon.industries. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally 45 days under the CCPA/CPRA and 30 days under the GDPR). You may also authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification of identity and authority.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information we hold. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
